Evacuation

For those who have seen the news regarding the mysterious gas at my working place.
Don't worry, i am fine. Lucky we were on the 3rd floor and running on a different air-con system.

What has happened? According to papers, 2 men were fighting, and then someone sprayed from a can. People who breathed in coughed, vomited or fainted.

No one in our shop knew anything. It was only our neighbors whose shop are facing the main hall and left their doors open started coughing came over to warn us and to leave the building. By that time, we looked out of our shop, there are already lots of people standing outside the building. Hub happened to be at Coffeebean at Raffles Hospital and SMS me b4 i could call him. So i walked over to meet him while waiting for the building to be cleared.

Managed to get back to shop at 6pm, we packed up and left for home.

What makes me mad is when i read the papers this morning. It was said that the security guards have asked the tenants to leave before the Civil Defense arrived. BullShit! There was no PA at all. The management office is just next door and no one said anything. What security guards??? It was other tenants who informed us. In fact, the police, ambulance and CD have arrived b4 i reached the ground floor. Another tenant was told to leave her shop by CD members with gas mask. You call the building evacuated???

Received a note from the mgt today.
' As you may be aware, there was an incident outside our shopping complex on 24 march at 4.06pm. The police and SCDF was called and SCDF suggested to evacuate part of the building as precautionary measure. As the fire alarm was linked to the hotel, the fire alarm was not sounded so as not to create unnecessary panic to the hotel guest and public.'

Checked my Hp for hub's SMS timing. 4.18pm... What the... 12mins in the building. Lucky that we are safe.

Mum told me that Lauren called her grandma to ask if i was ok. So sweet hor. Have not seen her for at least half a year and she remembers me (she is now in K1)... . All the biscuits and sweets i gave her in the past are worth it....hehe
