A long entry today...
Grasscutters early at around 8+am. Then the sounds of hacking at 9+ (yes...i wake up at 945). Later realised that my neighbour's house is under renovation. Not far away, just on the other side of the lift lobby. Formerly a malay family, uncle had a big hairdo with curls (bao za tou). Most likely uncle sold the flat, for seldom people will renovate their house during their new year. Wonder who my new neighbours will be...
Sunday Morning:
Hub did warn me that its going to be a noisy morning, thus he suggested that we on the air-con. But i didnt expect it to start that early, especially not after a night of drinks of kakis at Amara! Apparently, some VIP will be visiting the area. If not wrong, calligraphy session at blocks opposite the road, and tree-planting ceremony at area infront of our flat. The sounds of drums and gongs (lion dance) woke me up and I checked the clock. Its 815am!!! Its too early!!! Then followed by sounds of the malay drum. Went back to sleep. Then at 9+, the Emcee's voice is so irritating! Finally woke up at 1030. Looked dow the window, and saw 2 air-pumped kids playground where the kid can jump on. DJ plays OLD music, like abba, modern talking, faintz... Argh. Its so noisy!!!
Anyway, in the afternoon, Hub and I went to Chinatown to buy stuffs for GDL. Then to fareast flora to get more plants. Hopefully, this time my thumbs are greener. hehe. I just dont have the talent with plants, and end up bringing the plants to mum who will save them.
Today in office:
Argh. My office comp crashed! After 4+ years of abuse from me, it decided to go on strike. No images on the monitor, after many times of re-pluggin the sockets. And the CPU keeps restarting. There is no way i can survive without at comp at work! Time will pass by too slowly. Convinced my mum its not worth repairing the comp (plus i dont know what wrong with it and i need a comp ASAP), and a customer also told mum 4+ years is old for a comp liao. hehe. Thus an hour+ later, i returned with a new HP comp. Hehe. I very fast hor. But I lost quite alot of data, as my last backup was more than 3 mths ago (and its not a full backup). My customer's emails are all gone. My MSM emoticons are gone. The emails in the outlook express are gone. Cant remember if i backup the quotation templates, if not i have to redo them. Sighz. Spent the new few hours trying to update softwares, and installing drivers. Still prefer Window XP, Vista is so confusing. And trying to get used to the 19inch monitor. The fonts were so tiny, finally figured out how to make them readable. Yet to finish exploring the new comp, as by the time i get it running smoothly, its time to KO. More softwares to be installed tomorrow. But generally, i am happy to get a faster comp.
An incident last week in a pri school where i had to take measurements for the dancers:
The instructor asked the students to say "Afternoon, Miss Lynn". Then i spotted 2 students whispering to each other and wanted to interrupt the instructor. Then they contd whispering again, this time i overhear their conversation. "She is Miss or Mrs or Mdm. She wearing a wedding ring ah. How can she be a Miss..." Then 2 of them keep staring at my ring finger. Wah. Kids nowadays are really smart ah. Dont think i will notice such a thing when i was their age.
Shall be meeting my jiemeis tomorrow for dinner and drinks. Yippee..
