On friday nite, we stayed over at Sweet Hotel near Mersing. Pleasently surprised by the clean rooms, for I had a bad impression of such small hotels. The last one i went to, i stepped out of the room once i got in and decided to eat supper/chat instead of sleeping (and i heard there are bed bugs). Thus kakis, had a quick supper before we took a short sleep as we had to gather at 6.20am.
Off to tioman in a ferry, and we were allocated to our rooms at Paya Beach Lodge (rather disappointed, for we were looking forward to stay at the resort, and not the lodge). Typical divers lodge, kampung style. And off we go for our first dive. Had difficulties pulling up my wetsuit (keep telling myself that i should be glad to be able to fit into it after 6 years heeheee) Had difficulties descending in my 1st dive, thus was given an extra weight. But by the time all of us descend and visibility was rather bad, we were kinda of seperated. Guat found me but we lost the rest...and after a few mins, both of us decided to ascend and get back to the boat. A more successful 2nd dive, and decided to skip the 3rd.
Running out of time, we decided to skip the buffet and instead pay for our dinner at the éatting place near the lodge. Ordered Beehoon goreng, and this time it doesnt taste as good as it did last year. Infact it is tasteless. Sighz. Thus we went for dinner part 2, black peper prawn, butter prawn, sotong, stingray....
Had difficulty dragging ourselves out of bed, had a quick breakfast, and we made a last minute decision to go for the 2 dives as they were known to be better sites. So off we go, and this time i needed help to descend. I usually take 3 weights, but 4 this time and still difficulties. DM pulled me down for about 5m, and think i am overweighted. Something to improve on. And guat complains that i am not finning enough and likes to hang behind the rest of the divers.
Saw 2 turtles, and not forgetting the dolphins during our journey out....
