Magnificient Music of the Night

Went to catch The Phantom of the Opera at the esplanade with hubby on sat nite.

Loved every minute of it. The music, the costumes, the act, everything!

Though i had to agree with hub that the phantom's voice was abit controlled at the beggining, and not magnetic enough. His singing was much better toward the end of the show (joking with hub that he has to save his voice mah).

Remember watching the movie with kakis group years back. The musical looked familiar as the scenes were what i remembered from the movie. But even better with the live orchestra (who were hidden at the front of the stage, and all we could see is the head of the conductor), live singing. Nothing beats watching it live. Everything seems magical.

Glad that i have spent on the expensive tickets, managed to get seats in row H, where we could have a clear view of the stage and every actor. Though it will be better if the seats were right in the centre. Aiyoh. wonder how the people at the 1st row managed to see things and probably end up with a strained neck. VIP box seats dont look that great to me either, they were right beside the stage with blocked views. Must look for the best timing to get good seats. Too early and you end up right infront of the stage, too late and you end up with the last rows of the price category.

Verdict for the musical?

Spend your last buck and watch it. (though hub disagree, he will watch it again, but not spending the last buck on it).
