strange stranger

Was taking the escalator down to the Mrt station this morning, when a guy (in his 30s) called me. I turned around and he told me that my belt has missed a belt loop.
he may be trying to be nice. but to me it felt so weird.
Would you have noticed that if you were standing behind someone you didnt know?
Does that mean he was staring at my butt???...
