Kakis met up at Defu Lane for dinner and boy was it a disappointment. Food was expensive and tastes wise, it's very much lower than expectations. Called up earlier in the day for reservations, was told that 7pm slot was full and available slots were 5.30 and 8.30. Former was too early and the other was going to be our supper instead of dinner! And so i asked if it is possible shift it a bit later, and we got a 6pm slot.
Ordered drunken prawns (which costs us about $55 for 800g ! Expensive and the soup was lousy), veg, beancurd, pork ribs, cod fish, chilli crabs (promo $32 for 2 crabs) and butter crabs. Finished the dishes, and waited another 10-15 mins before the crabs were served. Chilli crab sauce: only taste its spiciness, but nothing else. Hub says not enough ketchup). The signature butter crabs were better, but still noting that fantastic. Some mentioned that the crabs aint that fresh. When paying the bill, we were told that we have to pay with OCBC credit cards for the promo crab. BUT! we were not told that before hand when placing our order and so we managed to pay with other cards but with the promo crabs.
Conclusion. We will never go back again.
After dinner plans, discussed for a long time. Movies was out as most cinemas were packed and our iphones cant support Java for some cinema websites. Decided to try Prawn fishing at Bishan, but the place was super packed and end up la kopi at the coffeeshop. Time for another idea and so all 9 of us shifted to Brahaus at United Square.
We gals went crazy over vending machines and most of us got the Hello Kitty charm. Aint it cute? hehee

was it that seafood paradise place. used to have good food. we went there for cny reunion dinner i thk 2 years back man, were we totally disappointed too!

rather go Melben in Toa Payoh, wont be that packed compared to the AMK branch
