Town of the Reds

Back from BKK.
Had a great holiday with the gals, and thanks to scott who let us stay over at his place.

Faced objections before i went on the trip, for there were news on the protests going in the town area, and they were bad bad news. Bombs, Deaths, Injuries...
BUT when we were there, we hardly felt the presence of the protest. Well, just dont be stupid and avoid the red areas.

(in the cab, airport to scott's)

1st day was a wild shopping day at Jatuchak. It was a super hot day. Lucky for us, Scott offered to bring some of our bags home, or we will be carrying bags and more bags of clothings and shoes. hehee
(exhausted after all the shopping)

Most mad was a dinner meal. While ordering, we were told certain dishes we wanted were unavailable, as the restaurant will be closed the next day. After waiting half an hour, only 2 dishes were served and the waiter simply told us thats all the kitchen could serve. There were 5 of us, and they expect us to accept that as a meal??!!! They could have told us way earlier when we were placing the orders, or the waiter could have offered to let us know what dishes were available. In the end, we walked out of the restaurant, hoping to leave without paying for the drinks as well but we were stopped by the manager. Scott paid for the drinks, and told us a year ago he would have argued and refused to pay. But after knowing their cultural, you will realise that it will simply be a waste of time and if things get ugly, we will be at the disadvantage cos we are foreigners. Oh and the manager's excuse was that the waiter was confused. What the...
(think i am quite good in taking self-potraits. hehee)

And at the Songkran festival, it was a tiring day. Didnt know that splashing water can be that exhasting! David drove us around and dropped us in pub alleys. But we were first unarmed, and we were splashed with cold icy water down our backs. Brrrr. Finally got our waterguns, but if i have the chance to go songkran again, i will spend more $ and buy one of those super guns. Heehee

Life will be different now guat is over in BKK with Scott. Sighz...

(I have no idea how i managed to take the right photo, was just doing point and shoot using Auto Mode)
