Was watching 'March of the penguins' on tv last nite. Gheez they are so cute.
Amazingly, they travel from all parts of the island to gather at the mating point. And they will somehow arrive on the same day! 3 days after mating, an egg popped out. Mummy has to carefully pass the egg to daddy, any mistake and if the egg catches a cold/crack, thats the end of the journey for the little one. Mummy then goes for a 2 months 'excursion' to the ocean to find food, while daddy keeps the egg warm thru the cold and harsh winter. They form circles to keep each other warm. The eggs hatches, and the tiny penguins are so so so cute. Then mummy has to rush back to take over the job from daddy (who has zero food for 3 months). Daddys' turn to find food and returns. Parents then seperate to return to their tribe and will meet a year later, while the 1 month old penguins will have to be independent and take care of themselves.
Amazing animal world...
Last Fri, Kakis met up for movie 'Hancock'. Think its one of WS's worst movie. Boring and slow. Candice even fell asleep half way. Then went over the street for drinks and to catch up with each other.
Lots of articles recently in the paper on singaporeans wearing slippers. This reminds me of what Bruce mentioned in Melbourne. How to spot a SG? They are the crazy ones who wears slippers in winter! Heehee. I am 1 of them. Once wore slippers to Vic Market to find Bruce (whose family business is selling socks) and Bruce made me wear a pair of rainbow-colour striped toe socks with my flip flops. And to walk around the market with them. Looked so funni. Hehe
Count down to my Malacca trip. Yipee!
