Won a 3d2n stay at Majestic hotel, thus we only had to arrange coach rides.
The journey started at8.30am, and took about 3.5 hours to reach our destination. Had to walk abit as the bus dropped us at Bayview hotel, then argh. There was no traffic light nearby. Instead of just crossing the road to reach majaestic, we had to walk further up to cross the road (heavy traffic then).
The room looked really nice. Exact as what the photos at their website shows.
Room was really spacious, and they had this old looking bathtub. Err. which i didnt use, just dont have the habit of soaking in the watertub.
Check out the tub, its actually made of plastic and not glass/ceramic!
If this is what they offer in malacca, it will be heaven at their group's Pangkor Laut. Check out their website. http://www.pangkorlautresort.com/index.htm
But seriously if i had to pay the rooms, i would not have chosen majestic. Room rates are like S$400 per nite! And their breakfast selection was pathetic and not hot.
Didnt really visit the museums as i have been there before. Thus we went walking down Jonker street and shopping at Mahkota Parade. hehee.. Felt that Jonker street has lost its old charm. Abit commercialised now, with Jonker Gallery shops filling up the street. Everything 5th shop and you see a Jonker Gallery.
We ate the famous Chicken rice balls. Err. whats so fascinating about them huh? Other than rolling the rice into balls?
Then we tried searching for a nonya chendol shop recomended at melaka.net, after walking rounds and rounds and asking around. There aint such a shop at the address! We gave up, legs feeling tired, hot and sweaty. And chose a stall that we passed by.
After spending days walking and walking. We decided to pamper ourselves at Spa Village (within Majestic). The unique thing is that they use peranakan ingredients in the treatments. Like Gula Melaka body scrub, egg rolling massages. Apparently, Spa Village is award winning in their other hotel outlets. But Majestic was newly opened for a only a year, thus still zero awards. The scrub was ok. But did enjoy the massage. Though i am more to soft oil massage, this is one of the rare times that i managed to 'survive' and enjoy a non-oiled one. hehe
